Meet your Somme

Amanda Maier of Amaranthine Wines was born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and is an enthusiastic supporter of Nova Scotia’s growing wine industry. She is a certified WSET level 2 sommelier and CAPS graduate.

Amanda has had the pleasure of travelling across South America, North America, and Europe in search of a great glass of vino. Her experience touring vineyards globally has enriched her approach to her work as a wine educator.

Amanda is an independent writer and manual osteopathic practitioner with a passion for international travel, cuisine, and literature. Her love for wine often finds its way into the pages of her stories. Following the release of her independently published debut novel in March 2023, she has gone on to publish a second novel. Amanda also runs La Petite Maison, a charming Airbnb on the ocean in L’Ardoise, Cape Breton, where she spends summer days with her two children.
